According to a story from last week, Bellerin’s agent was planning to visit North London to talk with the Emirates Stadium about terminating his client’s contract, which would allow him to join Real Betis permanently after making an impression there while on loan last season.
The 27-year-old has reportedly been offered to Barcelona by the agents of the Arsenal defender, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Camp Nou team appears to be interested in the Spanish right-back now that they have failed to sign Cesar Azpilicueta.
Bellerin left Catalunya as a teenager to join Arsene Wenger’s team, and Mundo has added that Bellerin himself would “look very favourably” at the thought of going back.
He has no chance of succeeding under Mikel Arteta in the Premier League, no matter what happens.
At best, Arteta would rank Bellerin, who makes £110,000 a week, third among candidates for that position, behind Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
The player must leave the Gunners, and it will be interesting to see if he rejoins the Blaugrana this summer.
