Paris Saint Germain’s Kylian Mbappe is now keen to decide the new deal from PSG.
The French forward is in the last 18 months in his contract with PSG.
This current state has renewed rumours of his exit from the club with clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid linked with the forward.
Mbappe, who scored a brace in their win against Montpellier insists that he is happy with the club and needed to reflect before signing a new deal.
Mbappe has had a prolific career at PSG having joined them from Monaco for a fee of £166m in 2017. Mbappe has scored 16 goals in 23 games for his club this season with his brace against Montpellier sending his side 3 points clear at the top of the Ligue 1.
According to sources at the club, they are confident that Mbappe will sign the deal and is unlikely to leave the club with his current contract ending in the summer of 2022.
The club wants Mbappe to sign the deal as it would benefit the club even if he decides to leave as the transfer fee would be a large amount of up to £250m.
If he is to decline the contract, he will leave for a small fee this summer since he has only one year left on his contract.
Neymar’s Future at PSG
Mbappe is not the only one whose contract is set to expire in 2022 as his teammate Neymar is also in talks with the club for a new deal.
However, with Neymar, there is the confidence that they will tie the 28-year-old to a new long-term contract as he is happy with the club. Neymar has also made it clear that he is keen to remain in the club, saying the idea of leaving has not crossed his mind.
