Winning both the FA Cup and the Champions League in the next three weeks, will see Chelsea players share a whopping £11 million in bonuses.
With a 2-0 win over Real Madrid on Wednesday night, Thomas Tuchel’s side secured their spot in this season’s Champions League final.
The Blues outplayed their opponents in the semi-finals, that by the end of the match, even one of Real’s players was celebrating the win, with Eden Hazard attracting a lot of flak for spending time with old friends.
After Pep Guardiola’s side defeated PSG on Tuesday, Chelsea will face Manchester City in the final on May 29th, marking the second all-Premier League final in three years.
According to the Daily Mail, just reaching the final has won the players a share of a £5 million bonus pool, and things could get even better.
They’ll get an additional £5 million if they defeat the team they beat just three weeks ago to make the FA Cup final.
Furthermore, a win in the final against Leicester City on May 15th will see N’Golo Kante, Timo Werner, Mason Mount, and the rest of the team share a £1 million prize pool.
Chelsea players share incentives from a pool equally, meaning each matchday team stands to receive about £500,000 if the club wins the Champions League.
For the second year in a row, there have been appeals for the game to be relocated from Istanbul to avoid fans moving to a foreign country during the pandemic.
