Arsenal has been linked with Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and Chelsea.

Kounde had a fantastic 2020/21 season with Sevilla, receiving his first senior call-up to the France squad and made his international debut against Wales on Wednesday night.

He has to be considered one of the most promising defensive talents in the world at the age of 22. It’s no wonder that he’s been associated to some of the game’s greatest personalities.

He’s been identified as a possible defensive replacement for Manchester United by Sky Sports, while The Athletic reports that Chelsea is also interested in signing him this summer.

Arsenal has joined the competition to sign Kounde, according to Spanish daily Marca (as cited by Sport Witness). Kounde might cost up to €60 million (about £51.5 million).

It’s difficult to envisage Arsenal paying such a large sum for a single player, especially given that they don’t compete in any European competition. Man United and Chelsea are unquestionably the favourites.

The Gunners, on the other hand, surprised everyone when they signed Thomas Partey late in the summer window of 2020. Could they have something else up their sleeves this time?
