Pep Guardiola wants Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish at Manchester City

According to ESPN, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is interested in signing Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish this summer.

Sergio Aguero left the club on a free transfer to join Barcelona, thus the Cityzens are looking for a new striker.

The club is considering a club-record move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, but it may not deter them from pursuing Grealish in the long run.

They have a lot of good attacking alternatives, but Pep Guardiola thinks Grealish can provide them the edge they need to win the Champions League.

Villa recently announced a record deal to buy Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City, indicating that Grealish could be available.

Kane and Grealish are both expected to sign lucrative contracts with the Cityzens. Villa reportedly value Grealish worth £100 million.

Despite an injury-plagued 2020/21 season for his team, the 25-year-old nevertheless managed seven goals and 12 assists in 27 games.

He is in the peak of his career, and Guardiola clearly believes that the dynamic attacker can help the club achieve European glory.
