Joao Felix, Portugal’s forward, has been ruled out of Saturday’s Euro group F encounter against Germany due to muscle soreness.

In their 3-0 win over Hungary, the 21-year-old, who won LaLiga with Atletico Madrid, was an unused substitute, and coach Fernando Santos left the starting 11 unchanged.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who netted twice in that match to become the all-time leading scorer in Euros history, is once again in charge of the holders’ attack.

With Kai Havertz, Thomas Mueller, and Serge Gnabry up front, Germany coach Joachim Loew kept the same starting lineup as in their 1-0 opening loss against France.

TEAMS:

PORTUGAL: Rui Patricio; Nelson Semedo, Pepe, Ruben Dias, Raphael Guerreiro; Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, Danilo, William Carvalho; Cristiano Ronaldo (captain), Diogo Jota

GERMANY: Manuel Neuer (captain); Antonio Rudiger, Matthias Ginter, Mats Hummels, Robin Gosens; Joshua Kimmich, Toni Kroos, Serge Gnabry, Ilkay Gündogan; Kai Havertz, Thomas Muller (Reporting by Hardik Vyas in Bengaluru; Editing by Hugh Lawson)
