Granit Xhaka has made it clear that he wants to quit Arsenal and join AS Roma this summer.

The future of the midfielder at The Emirates has been a topic of discussion in recent weeks, with reports suggesting he could be on his way out of the north London club.

Xhaka has already been linked with a summer move to AS Roma, where he would join Jose Mourinho, as he tries to end his Arsenal career.

The Swiss player has been a key member of the Arsenal team in recent seasons, scoring one goal and providing two assists in 31 Premier League appearances in the last campaign.

The 28-year-old, though, appears to have expressed his intention to quit Arsenal and join AS Roma this summer once more.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Xhaka said: “Arsenal know what I want to do… it is very beautiful here [in Rome].”

He continued: “Football is a team sport and you’re only as good as your team. Of course, it was a good year for me personally. I’ve always played and performed.

“But the place at the end of the season is, of course, really bitter and disappointing for us.”

As Mikel Arteta prepares for his second full season in charge in north London, the Gunners are rumored to be mulling a massive overhaul of their team this summer.

Despite all of the rumours, the Gunners are yet to confirm any major signings during this transfer period.
