Liverpool have reportedly moved quickly to recruit the South American star from FC Porto, according to A Bola. Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the player and wants to hire him.

Several clubs have expressed interest in signing the attacker, according to Correio da Manha, but he prefers to join Liverpool. In the next days, we’ll see how the transfer saga plays out.

According to the reputable Portuguese news outlet, the 26-year-old’s current contract will end in 2025 and contains a release clause of 60 million euros (£51 million).

His contract, however, includes a clause that allows him to leave for a cost of 40m euros this month.

Therefore, Liverpool needs to act quickly, and they only have one day to buy him for a reduced sum.

However, O Jogo, a Portuguese news outlet, said that Otavio is now in quarantine after returning from Brazil, and that the agreement will almost certainly not be completed by June 30th.

As a result, Porto will consider not to sell him at a low price, and the £51 million clause will become the benchmark.

Manager Sergio Conceicao is also quoted as saying that he does not want to lose Otavio and that only an undeniable offer will compel the Liga Nos giants to accept his exit.

Otavio played in midfield and forward roles for the Primeira Liga club in the previous season, scoring five goals and assisting on 12 occasions across all competitions.
