Postecoglou asks Celtic to prioritise transfer for Mooy

According to 90min, Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has requested that a move for Aaron Mooy be prioritized.

Following his time with Brighton, he transferred to Shanghai Port in the Chinese Super League, where he currently plays for Shanghai Port.

After only one full season with the Seagulls in the 2019/2020 season, Mooy relocated to the far east.

He moved to the AMEX Stadium on a loan deal at first, but it was made permanent in January 2020. The 30-year-old defender claimed he sought a “new challenge” after sealing a deal to China.

The coach is said to have identified the midfielder as a key transfer target. Mooy was a player under Postecoglou when the Greek-born coach was in charge of Australia.

Last season, when Celtic lost the title to Rangers, they struggled to create chances. As a result, a Mooy deal might provide a much-needed energy for Celtic in the upcoming season.
