According to Fabrizio Romano, West Ham and Lazio are in talks over the transfer of attacking midfielder Felipe Anderson.
On Sunday evening (04/07/21), the famous transfer guru made the assertion on his own Twitter profile.
He wrote: “Lazio are progressing in negotiations to sign Felipe Anderson from West Ham. Talks are ongoing between the two clubs, personal terms are already agreed.”
According to an earlier report from TuttoMercatoWeb, the Brazilian would be permitted to join the Rome-based club on a free transfer.
They stated that the Hammers had included a 50% sell-on clause in the contract and that it was close to being finalized.
Romano is a trustworthy source, and his statements indicate that negotiations are still ongoing, but final terms are yet to be decided upon.
It would be a big loss for West Ham to walk away empty-handed from this agreement after spending £36 million for the 28-year-old in July 2018 in a deal that could have eventually increased to £41.5 million (BBC).
Given the great array of skill in our attacking midfield areas, sanctioning his exit from the London Stadium is the right decision, but a loss of £36-41 million would be devastating in terms of business.
