According to liverpoolfc.com, Liverpool’s Liam Millar has finalized his transfer to FC Basel.
The Athletic reported that the former Academy starlet, who spent last season on loan at Charlton Athletic in League One, will move to Switzerland for a fee of £1.3 million.
The 21-year-old attacker made a single outing for Jurgen Klopp’s first-team in an FA Cup fourth-round win over Shrewsbury Town in 2020, but was unable to establish himself in the team on a regular basis.
Michael Edwards and the recruiting staff have started off nicely, earning over £4 million from the exits of Millar and Kamil Grabara, as the club strives to aggregate about £60 million in player sales this summer.
Liverpool fans may anticipate players like Marko Grujic, Harry Wilson, and others to follow the former stars out the door, with both players expected to cost £10-15 million each.
While it’s unfortunate that the Canadian couldn’t perform well in Merseyside, the fans wish Liam all best in the future.
