According to reports in the British press over the last few days, Sampdoria are interested in signing Celtic’s Ryan Christie.

Tuttosport in Italy reported on the Serie A club’s interest in the midfielder on Sunday.

The outlet cited the Hoops player when discussing possible incomings at the Serie A side.

Massimo Ferrero, the chairman of Sampdoria, is said to be looking to sign Ange Postecoglou’s man in the summer window.

In the previous season, he scored seven goals and provided 15 assists across all competitions.

The 26-year-old is in the final year of his contract, and if Celtic do not renew it, he could go on a free transfer next year.

With Sampdoria interested in acquiring Christie’s talents, Celtic may be obliged to offload the player during the current window if he does not wish to extend his contract.
