The Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, believes the Reds will make a major signing this summer.
In an interview with Anfield watch, the trusted transfer football journalist said that even last year, he did not foresee the Reds signing Diogo Jota.
Romano is without a doubt one of the quickest when it comes to breaking news about transfers.
“Expect them to make some surprise. If you asked me last summer in June or July whether Liverpool will sign Diogo Jota I would never say that was a done deal or close,” the Fabrizio Romano said.
“I like this style because it’s difficult for journalists, but it’s great for the club and for the strategy. I expect something surprising also this summer from Liverpool.”
This summer, the Reds have been linked with a number of players, but Renato Sanchez and Saul Niguez’ names keep making the headlines.
The news on the Laliga Champions midfielder has recently been covered by Mundo Deportivo, with sources claiming that the Liverpool have already made a £34 million approach for the Spaniard.
