According to The Daily Mail, Southampton are in negotiations with Newcastle about possibly signing Isaac Hayden this summer.

The Magpies are reportedly looking for approximately £12 million for the defensive midfielder, who is 26 years old.

The Saints are also considering using Mario Lemina to work out a deal.

This summer, St Mary’s coach Ralph Hasenhuttl will be trying to bolster his defensive line.

Southampton and Newcastle are said to have held talks, according to The Daily Mail.

According to The Daily Mail, the Saints would want to pay less and include Mario Lemina in the move.

Newcastle has recently been linked with a move for the Southampton midfielder, according to The Daily Mail, therefore it may be a transfer that Steve Bruce is interested in.

Hayden is capable of playing in both center-back position and defensive midfield. The Saints would benefit greatly from the arrival of the London-born ace.
