The Scottish Sun media outlet reported that the Hoops are eyeing Lausanne-Sport defender Moritz Jenz.
The availability of £1m-rated German has been brought to the attention of the Hoops’ recruitment scouts, but the 22-year-old is garnering interest from all around Europe.
Celtic are on Jenz’s radar, and he is ready to leave Lausanne-Sport with only two years left on his deal.
Last summer, the German left Fulham after five years on the books, and he may be interested in returning to the UK.
Jenz not only plays in the centre-back position, but he can also play right-back and assist Celtic in solving their problems.
As they look to beef up their league title challenge, the Hoops are anxious to boost their squad in both positions, and adding Jenz might go a long way to assisting them in the next campaign.
Jenz would like to show himself at a similar level after failing to break into Fulham’s team, and Hoops manager Ange Postecoglou could provide him with the opportunity.
