Celtic fans in panic after new signing walked off with a knee injury during World Cup qualifiers match

It is no doubt that Kyogo Furuhashi has been emphatic for Celtic ever since joining the Parkhead outfit this summer. He has managed to become a Celtic hero in a short span of time and is arguably the most important player in Ange Postecoglou’s side at the moment.

The £5 million summer signing however faces a potential injury lay off  after he was forced off early in the second half of  Japan’s 1-0 win against China on Tuesday.

An awkward collision with midfielder Jin Jingdao led to Kyogo leaving the pitch while clutching to his knee in the second half.

The Celtic hero limped off the pitch after treatment from Japanese medics and till now the extent of the injury is still unknown.

This could be a huge blow to the club especially after Odsonne Edouard’s deadline day move to Crystal Palace.

Worried Hoops supporters took to Furuhashi’s social media accounts in attempt to get details concerning the injury but the 24-year-old is yet to open up on his condition despite taking to twitter to congratulate his team over the victory.

Celtic will be hoping he comes back and it’s not too serious, but if they had to do without their goal machine for some time then it would be a blow, forcing forgotten Albian Ajeti to come in.

The Hoops have a tough sequence of incoming fixtures and boss Ange Postecogou will have his fingers crossed as he awaits the arrival of his main man from international duty and his assessment by the club’s medics.

Celtic will clash with Ross County on Saturday and face Real Betis on Thursday in the first round of Europa League matches.

Furuhashi has scored seven goals in his first nine matches at Celtic since arriving from J1 League side Vissel Kobe.
