The Barcelona club’s president, Joan Laporta, has apparently received a number of board member requests to fire head coach Ronald Koeman as soon as possible.

The Catalan club has started the season unbeaten in La Liga, with seven points from their first three matches, but they were defeated 3-0 at home by Bayern Munich in their opening Champions League match on Tuesday.

Barca are said to have no plans to relieve Koeman of his duties at Camp Nou in the near future and are willing to give the Dutchman more time as the manager.

According to Catalan news station TV3, certain members of Barcelona’s board of directors – which consists of 18 members – think that now is the appropriate time to fire the 58-year-old and replace him with a new manager.

According to the article, Laporta and the club’s vice president Rafael Yuste are inclined to concur that a change of coach is required, despite the fact that director of football Mateu Alemany and technical secretary Ramon Planes believe in Koeman.

Barca manager Ronald Koeman has coached both Southampton and Everton in the Premier League, winning a total of 36 matches, drawing 10, and recording 12 losses in the 58 games he has overseen.
