Former Manchester United centre back Rio Ferdinand has hailed Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah for setting a goal scoring record at the club.

The 29-year-old Egyptian ace scored his 100th Premier League goal in Saturday’s 3-3 stalemate with Brentford, becoming the quickest player to reach the milestone in the history of Liverpool.

The two-time Golden Boot winner also became the fifth quickest player in Premier League history to reach the 100th-goal mark, attracting Ferdinand’s attention.

“He’s the fifth quickest to 100 Premier League goals in history, and the biggest fact of all that is he’s a wide player. He’s a wide striker, he’s not an actual out-and-out number nine,” the Manchester United great said on his Vibe with Five Youtube show.

“Ahead of him is Alan Shearer, Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero, Thierry Henry and then Salah.

Ferdinand further revealed that Salah has earned his name among the all-time Premier League and world football greats.

“He’s an absolute killer. So when you’re talking about the best strikers, the best attackers in world football over the last couple of years, Salah has to be in the conversation.”

“Go and watch Salah and what he does. He dominates and destroys top-level players on a regular basis. He makes the game look easy, he makes football look easy.”

Meanwhile, Salah will lead Liverpool’s attack when the side faces FC Porto in the Champions League group stages tie on Tuesday in Portugal.

Liverpool will then host Manchester City for an EPL cracker on Sunday.
