UCL: Man Utd seek to overcome Young Boys hoodoo as Villarreal knocks

Former Champions Manchester United will be out to forget their horror start to this season’s Uefa Champions League campaign when they host Europa League champions, Villarreal, on Wednesday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side started the season on a losing note, shockingly going down 2-1 to Young Boys in their group F opener a fortnight ago.

The Red Devils will be trying to forget the Young Boys stunner in yet another tricky and unpredictable fixture against Villarreal.

The Spanish outfit edged the Old Trafford giants in post-match penalties to lift last season’s Uefa Europa League crown.

However, United will be looking for ways to find revenge against the Unai Emery-coached club with forward Christiano Ronaldo in form.

Since joining Manchester United from Juventus during the transfer window, the Portuguese star has scored four goals.

Ronaldo failed to score in Manchester United’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday, hence he is eager to get his name on the score sheet again tonight.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo are ruled out of tonight’s tie through injury.
