Victor Orta sends a clear message to supporters amid relegation fears

That is according to Victor Orta, the club’s Director of Football, who is convinced his team will be safe while acknowledging they are in a difficult situation right now.

Following their successful comeback to the Premier League last season, Leeds’ current campaign has gone nowhere near as well.

Leeds United are presently 15th in the Premier League, five points clear of the relegation zone, after winning just five of their 24 league games this season.

As a result, the possibility of Leeds being relegated to the Championship for the 2022/23 season is not out of the question.

However, it appears that Orta, at the very least, is sure that this will not be the case for the Elland Road club in the coming months.

Victor Orta was quoted by the Spanish Media COPE saying:

“We are at that moment when the bad ball with rivals comes a little again.

“It’s a week of passion, Manchester on Sunday, Liverpool tomorrow, and then Tottenham. We are doing well enough, but not enough with the sensations. All of the leadership are working, and I have the feeling that we will be safe.”

It will undoubtedly be a nerve-wracking few months for the team, as they will not want to plummet out of the Premier League so soon after such a long absence.

However, Orta’s comments appear to indicate that the tone behind the scenes at Leeds remains upbeat, which could be crucial if they are to avoid relegation, as letting heads droop could be detrimental.

Indeed, you get the impression that when everyone is fit and available, Leeds has more than enough quality to pull away from the bottom three, so it might just be an issue of hanging in there until that happens, which may not be too long away now.
