Jurgen Klopp suggests £49m Liverpool star is fine to play tonight

Jurgen Klopp has given a favourable assessment of Luis Diaz before Liverpool’s FA Cup clash with Norwich on Wednesday night.

The Reds attacker made his Carabao Cup final debut against Chelsea on Sunday and performed admirably.

Diaz was one of Liverpool’s most dangerous players, and he appeared capable of producing something every time he had possession.

Fans were concerned when Klopp decided to remove the Reds’ January signing in extra time.

However, the Liverpool manager said Diaz was fatigued before of the FA Cup fifth-round match at Anfield.

“He did really well,” Anfield Watch quoted Klopp as saying. “We need this kind of quality. He did incredibly well.

“Hopefully it’ll stay like this as long as possible. He just had fatigue at Wembley. No injury.”

And on the official Liverpool website, Klopp was quoted as saying: “He had nothing.

“We just took him off because we saw he got tired.

“He was tired earlier but he was still fighting really hard.

“It was an incredibly intense game, I have to say. I’m not sure I saw a final like this.

“Okay, when one team is up then obviously why should it be intense when one team is managing the game and the other one is chasing it.

“In this game both teams were going for it. The intensity was absolutely insane.”

The initial £37 million that Liverpool paid for Diaz in January might increase to a whopping £49 million, and he’s earned every penny of it.

He seems like he’s been at Liverpool for a long time, not just a few weeks.

Obviously, it’ll be fascinating to watch how he does at Liverpool once he’s adjusted to Klopp’s playing style and the Premier League as a whole.
