Leeds update now emerges as good news for Marsch shows no signs of stopping

Jesse Marsch told talkSPORT on Tuesday that Junior Firpo is expected to return to training this week.

Firpo suffered a serious knee injury in just his second game in charge of the Whites, which the American manager claimed had been ‘over-trained’.

With Leeds picking up 10 points from a possible 12 points since the 3-0 loss to Aston Villa, the left-back hasn’t been seen.

During those four games, Stuart Dallas has stepped in for Firpo, but it looks like the summer signing will be back when Leeds travel to Crystal Palace on April 25.

Marsch’s defensive options will be bolstered even further by the availability of Firpo for the remainder of the season, which can only be seen as good news for the manager.

The 25-year-old has had a poor start to his Elland Road career, missing 13 Premier League matches and picking up more yellow cards than any other Leeds player.

In his first season in England, he was the team’s joint-third best defender in tackles, so hopefully Marsch will be able to keep him.
