Injury boost as star passed fit for crucial Scottish Cup clash

David Turnbull hasn’t had another injury scare and will be ready to play for Celtic when they play Rangers this weekend.

He was a doubt for Hampden Park’s Scottish Cup semi-final clash against St. Johnstone after sustaining an injury in the Premiership match on Saturday.

Ange Postecoglou stated in his pre-match press conference, however, that the blow had been surmounted and that he may appear in the battle on Easter Sunday as well.

Celtic will be hoping to capitalise on their League Cup victory and their six-point lead in the title race.

In the wake of Giorgos Giakoumakis’ hamstring injury, Turnbull’s comeback provides some solace.

In December, Wishaw’s Hoops player hurt his hamstring during Celtic’s victory over Hibernian in the Premier Sports Cup. He has been out for most of 2022 because of the injury.
