Howe must not drop Toon speedster in favour of 27y/o tonight

Miguel Almiron will be looking to keep his place in Newcastle United’s starting lineup against Crystal Palace tonight.

Ryan Fraser’s injury has presented the Paraguayan with an opportunity, which he is seizing with both hands.

Almiron came on as a late substitute in Wolves’ 1-0 triumph, linking up nicely with Bruno Guimaraes and creating plenty of issues for Bruno Lage’s defense.

His display against Wolves earned him a starting spot against Leicester, and he ran his socks off once more.

Almiron’s pressure was terrific, compelling the referee to issue a yellow card for a foul by Daniel Amartey in the first minute.

Howe does have one back-up plan. Jacob Murphy, who played a big role during our spectacular unbeaten run earlier this year. He could be a good option.

Howe’s decision to pick Almiron ahead of him appeared to say a lot about the 27-year-old, but now it’s the £21million man who gets the nod.

With the fixtures piling up, the manager may be considering making a few changes to his starting lineup. Almiron, on the other hand, deserves to stay in the team.

After a tumultuous season, he’s finally beginning to regain his composure. Putting him back on the bench could be a huge mistake.

Almiron requires a full season in the starting XI. Fraser’s injury has given him the chance he’s been waiting for, and he deserves more minutes to show why he still has a place at Newcastle United.
