Everton senior player injured again, will miss PL match against Chelsea

Everton midfielder Fabian Delph has suffered an injury, according to Frank Lampard.

The Englishman was back in the team to play Liverpool after an injury setback against Leicester City.

Delph could be sidelined for the next two matches, according to the Toffees’ manager, which means he is unlikely to play against Chelsea at home.

“Difficult decisions, they came in and have both been really effective. Delph for two games, Yerry for one,” said Lampard, as quoted by Liverpool Echo.

“Yerry was a bit stiff and tight two days after the game. It’s normal when you’ve been out for ten weeks and with his history it was a decision made with a though process of the next games coming up.

“Delph was similar. They’re important players for us and we took them out and the players who came in did well.”

Delph had a superb game in midfield against Leicester City, but he was once again unavailable.

He was also outstanding in the 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Goodison Park, where he dominated in the midfield.

It’s a shame that a player of his caliber has only made five Premier League appearances this season.

The manager must appoint someone to the team whom he can rely on to perform. You never know when Delph will be ready to play.

The same may be said for Yerry Mina. Both are excellent players, but the club should sell them this summer. Delph, in any event, is under contract until the conclusion of the season.
