Relegation survivors Everton will be looking for ways to strengthen their squad with the signing of Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The next course of action for Johnson will be determined by Sunday’s Championship promotion face-off between Forest and Huddersfield Town.

The 21-year-old is tipped to pen a new deal with Nottingham Forest if his side is promoted but appears set to leave for the Toffees if Sunday’s results state otherwise.

The Welshman has been in good form this season, scoring 19 times and assisting nine times across all competitions in the second division of English football.

Everton are said to be in a better position to sign Johnson ahead of Newcastle United, Leicester City, and Brentford, who are also mentioned as other Premier League sides with an interest in the youngster.

At his tender age, Brennan Johnson has made over 100 appearances and nine international caps in the space of two seasons.

Frank Lampard is known for grooming young talents in his blossoming coaching career. After saving Everton from the chop, the English tactician will arguably build his squad around fresh blood next season for stability in the league.

The former Chelsea boss worked the magic at Stamford Bridge on Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Reece James, moulding them into world-class players under his reign.
