Brazilian news outlets have reported that English Premier League side Everton have been chasing the signature of Red Bull Bragantino midfielder Eric Ramires in a bid to strengthen their team ahead of next season.

Toffees Manager Frank Lampard faces an assignment of sealing the existing loopholes at Goodison Park after surviving the relegation nightmare in the summer.

Fabian Delph’s contract with Everton is coming to an end with renewal negotiations yet to be reported. At the same time, Donny van de Beek has returned to Manchester United after his short-term loan spell at the club expired at the end of the season.

This scenario leaves Lampard with the decision of making a move for a midfielder heading into the new season.

Ramires has emerged as the potential man to solve Lampard’s midfield headache. The 21-year-old has been pivotal at Red Bull Bragantino with 23 appearances in the season.

However, Everton are apparently pondering the high asking price of the Brazilian midfielder. The club owns 70% of the player’s economic rights, releasing around £ 1.98m to Brahia, predicting a higher price tag for the wonderkid.

This has further discouraged Everton’s bid to get the star to Goodison Park. Red Bull are believed to be in no hurry to cash in on Ramires after he recently signed a deal with the club running until 2026.
