Rangers have tabled an offer trying to lure 22-year-old free agent goalkeeper Berke Ozer from Fenerbahce, Turkish outlet En Sen Haber claims.

The shot-stopper joined the Turkish giants in the summer of 2018, but the then teenager did not earn a call-up for a single match in his first season with Fenerbahce.

The lack of game time in Turkey saw him move to Belgium, where he joined Westerlo on loan for two years before going ahead to gather enough experience between the sticks.

Last summer, he played 19 times in all competitions, including three times in the Europa League after returning to provide cover for Turkey’s first choice keeper, Ugurcan Cakir. Despite this, Berke Ozer has not impressed the top ranks at Fenerbahce for a new deal after the expiry of his contract.

However, Rangers are interested in him, with Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side reported to have tabled a bid to sign the free agent in the window for free.

The Ibrox side will face competition from Benfica and Anderlecht, who are also after the services of the goalkeeper.
