According to Phil Hay, there is a “high possibility” that Leeds will sign Tyler Adams from RB Leipzig this summer. Manchester City are expected to sign Kalvin Phillips.

The 26-year-old Phillips is about to leave Leeds, where he has been a player since he was a young player.

A medical is due to be conducted on Friday as part of a transfer that is anticipated to be worth an initial £42 million plus an additional $3 million.

Adams is one of the many names that have been suggested as a potential replacement for Phillips.

According to earlier reports from Fabrizio Romano, Leeds are eager to secure Jesse Marsch’s third reunion this summer.

He has a £32 million release clause at Leipzig, according to BILD, and Marsch coached him both there and at the New York Red Bulls. According to what Hay said on his podcast, Adams might replace Phillips in Leeds.

“They are recruiting players Marsch wants—Kristinsen, Aaronson.” You’ve seen the links to Tyler Adams, and there is a fair possibility of that one. That is somebody else that Marsch knows extremely well. They are backing him.”

On many levels, Adams would be an excellent addition to Leeds. At age 23, he just needs six more games to reach 200 senior club and country matches.

He is versatile, somewhat inexpensive at this point in the market (a little over £30 million), and he is familiar with Marsch. Additionally, Adams would pair up with Aaronson, one of his international teammates. It is logical.

Leeds would also gain from the sale of Phillips, which would free up money for them to invest in other players, such as a striker or a replacement for Raphinha when the Brazilian inevitably leaves.
