According to reports, Celtic and Dylan Reid, St. Mirren’s promising midfielder, will hold contract negotiations.

The 17-year-old has been followed by the Hoops for a while as he rose through the levels at the SMiSA Stadium.

Europe as a whole has expressed interest in Reid. However, Celtic seemed to initiate contact by making a £125,000 bid for the Buddies.

Since Glasgow rivals Rangers tried to recruit Reid, more offers have apparently come through for the Scotland under-17 international.

The Ibrox side’s offer was rejected, though, and it appears that Celtic are the team moving forward with any prospective deals the fastest.

According to the Scottish Daily Express’s most recent report, Reid will take part in signing negotiations later today, after the Bhoys had an offer for the midfielder accepted.

Ange Postecoglou is also anticipated to attend the signing discussions via Zoom from Austria, and the bright young player will allegedly speak to B team coaches Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea.

The teenage Scotland international’s future lies with the B team, and the Celtic manager acknowledged late last week that he wasn’t involved in the discussions for him.

But when Reid gets closer to finalizing a move to Parkhead, the 56-year-old will intervene to make sure that talks go smoothly and persuade him to join the team.
