According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Ben Davies will have a Rangers medical on Monday as he completes a £4 million transfer from Liverpool.

After agreeing to a four-year contract, the 26-year-old defender has been given permission to join the Glasgow giants and finish the transfer procedures.

Rangers and Liverpool have come to a £4 million agreement on Davies’ deal, who has three years left on a contract earning £60,000 per week with Klopp’s side.

He will probably receive a substantial wage raise when he joins Rangers, where the highest-paid players make far less.

After failing to start a single professional game for Liverpool since joining from Preston North End on the final day of the January 2021 transfer window, Davies will move to Ibrox.

As a left-sided center-back who can also play left-back, the defender, who has spent the majority of his career in the English Championship, will be a like-for-like replacement for Bassey.

From 2017 to 2021, Davies was a pillar in Preston’s defence for three and a half seasons until being lured away to Liverpool.

He arrived at Anfield in the midst of an ongoing injury crisis, with Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk among the long-term casualties.

The Merseysiders reportedly paid the center-back an initial price of merely £500,000, with add-ons raising the total cost to as much as £1.6 million.
