Nottingham Forest in advanced talks with Lingard, ready to meet demands

This year’s Premier League entrants, Nottingham Forest, are reportedly negotiating with Lingard for a contract.

This shocking revelation by The Guardian and other sources like ODDSbible means that the 29-year old’s stay at WestHam is a huge impossibility, adding to their misery after Tuchel’s refusal to release Broja.

Apparently, the staggering weekly wage demanded by Lingard, which Moyes’s side wasn’t willing to part with, isn’t a hurdle in Nottingham’s way as the City Ground family is willing to pay it.

Lingard has been linked to a number of clubs this season, among them next season’s UCL contenders, Tottenham, but none of the negotiations were fruitful, partly due to his 18000 pound weekly demand.

The England international impressed while on loan at West Ham last season, scoring 9 goals in 16 appearances, but the Hammers clearly do not believe this performance is worth the high pay.

Forest could be a perfect chance for Lingard to get enough game time and prove his worth not just to the club but the nation, especially with England’s World Cup line up still unknown.

In their tweet, ODDSbible thought Nottingham would beat all competition to get their hands on the former Manchester United midfielder.

“Nottingham Forest are now the odds-on favourites to sign Jesse Lingard,” read the tweet.

Jesse is good, but 180,000 pounds isn’t a joke, and he’ll be under pressure to deserve it if Nottingham agrees to that demand.
