According to Phil Hay, Leeds United goalie Kristoffer Klaesson has now sustained an injury after fracturing his ankle.

Although Illan Meslier will undoubtedly start the Premier League opener against Wolves, the Norwegian goalkeeper should be ready, according to an Athletic journalist.

Although transfers are currently being considered, Klaesson shone at Molineux in the 3-2 victory last season, coming off the bench due to an injury to Meslier.

Prior to this weekend’s season opener, Hay posted the most recent information about more injuries to the team on his personal Twitter account.

“Klaesson has an ankle knock but will be fit for the Wolves game,” he wrote.

“Marsch, though, is indicating that more experienced goalkeeping back-up for Meslier will be signed before the end of the window. Suggested we’ll see an incoming next week.”

Although we think Klaesson will fall further down the pecking order and probably play a lot more under-21 football moving forward, we think he will learn a lot from the new keeper.

To the disappointment of the young goalkeeper, he should be included in the team to face Wolves just to meet the minimum requirements.
