Celtic want £10m player exiled from training

Last week, L’Equipe revealed that Leeds, Newcastle, and West Ham target Bamba Dieng had been banished from first-team training by the new Marseille coach, Igor Tudor.

Unlike many would expect, the Senegal international is still as highly (if not more) demanded as he was before the exile, with Scottish giants Celtic joining in as interested parties.

This interest, according to Homme Du Match, is two-sided, considering Dieng’s anticipation to join the Celts, who, according to him, are the reason the likes of Mousa Dembele and Odsome Edouard enjoy their current fame.

What awaits Dieng at Celtic is probably tougher than his current difficult days with Marseille, though, not just because of their European Cup involvement but the brilliant players they already have at the front.

If he is to get a first-team slot should Celtic sign him, the Senegal international, who has so little senior experience, will have to outshine Kyogo Furuhashi and others, which is improbable.

Donning a Celtic shirt as a non-regular starter is more probable though, plus he will hone his skills and gather enough experience, something that’s almost impossible for him at Marseille now.

The 10 million pounds demanded by Marseille isn’t a big amount for Celtic or their EPL competitors, so it’s highly possible that Dieng will exit Marseille this summer transfer.

As for where he ends up, the allure of European Cup participation and possible domestic cups (which Celtic promises) could beat any bid offered by Leeds, Newcastle, and West Ham.
