Rangers can now sign 22-year-old for free

Berke Ozer, the former Fenerbahce goalkeeper, apparently received a contract offer from Rangers early this summer.

Speaking to Hurriyet, he now reaffirmed his ambition to sign with a European team as soon as possible.

En Sen Haber, a Turkish tabloid, said in June that Rangers had “made an offer” for Berze. The former Turkey U21 international is still waiting to hear where he’ll be playing in 2022–2023 after two months have passed.

In The Express, Charlie Nicolas acknowledges that he anticipates the Glasgow giants to sign a new goalkeeper as soon as possible, citing Jon McLaughlin’s error in the Champions League qualifying match against Union Saint-Gilloise. In contrast, Allan McGregor will turn 41 in the coming year.

They do say that there is typically no smoke without fire, though. Furthermore, reports linking Ozer, Martin Fraisl, Vladan Kovacevic, and Dimitar Mitov to the runners-up in the Europa League don’t just seem like coincidences. In all likelihood, the ship is still in the harbor.

“Currently, I am doing both fitness and field training with my individual coach,” Ozer explains when quizzed on his future plans.

“I am a young player. I have to play. As a result, we are waiting to take the right decision. There are also clubs that we are in contact with. Hopefully, we will reach a decision as soon as possible.”

“I want to continue my career in Europe,” Ozer adds. “But, of course, the most important thing is to play, to be able to play; to develop.

“I spent four years at Fenerbahce (and) I learned a lot of important things. I want to apply what I learned in the best way in Europe.”
