James Rodriguez has been talking to his Twitch followers about his departure from Everton, and has revealed a few fascinating details.

Widely, the Colombian confessed that Rafa Benitez was the one who pushed him out of Everton, which has already been well documented.

Rodriguez did confess, though, that if the opportunity was presented, he would return to Goodison Park.

He appeared to be satisfied with life at Everton, but he stumbled across a manager who didn’t like him.

As quoted by AS, the 30-year-old said: “In the end, the coach didn’t want to count on me, it’s the preferences of each coach, some like you, others don’t and that’s respectable, but I’d come back, why not, I left everything, I always trained, worked and the Everton fanbase is very big and supports well.”

The former Real Madrid player also spoke about his future plans after leaving Al-Rayyan.

Despite his willingness to return to Everton, Rodriguez has stated that playing in Major League Soccer in the United States would be a “good option.”

In nine games for Al-Rayyan this season, the South American has scored three goals and provided four assists.

You could argue that the 2014 World Cup Golden Boot winner still has a lot to contribute at the age of 30.

At Goodison Park, though, Frank Lampard must take a youthful approach, and 30-year-old player should not be on his radar.

The Toffees want to sign Conor Gallagher, according to TEAMtalk, and the 22-year-old is exactly the type of player Lampard should be looking for.

Of course, if Rodriguez returned, he would almost certainly show moments of brilliance, but in terms of a long-term plan at Everton, he would be taking on a large salary that might be split among three bright prospects.
