Before making a decision on a possible return to Ibrox next year, Aaron Ramsey insists on waiting until the end of the current season.

Since joining Rangers on loan from Juventus in January, the player has struggled with his fitness.

Injuries have dogged the midfielder for the past few seasons, resulting in sporadic appearances.

However, the Welshman has already scored two goals for Rangers in the last few weeks, including one against Celtic.

A year left on his contract at Juventus means that fans are hopeful that Ramsey will return to Ibrox next season.

It means that a deal will have to be struck in order for the Welshman to return for the 2022/23 season, whether it be a contract termination or another loan spell.

A potential issue for Rangers is the salary of midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who earns around 400,000 per week under his current Juventus contract.

When asked about his reasons for joining Rangers, Aaron Ramsey admitted that the move was motivated by a desire to win trophies and improve his consistency.

He said: “Now is not the time to go into too much detail.

“I still have a year left on my deal at Juventus so we’ll have to reassess the situation in the summer and see what they’re thinking.

“We’ll go from there. That’s something to be discussed at the end of the season.

“I’m feeling good. The thing I’ve been lacking over the last few years is consistency. I can still produce the numbers required and I have no issues with that it’s just getting consistency and into a bit of a rhythm.

“I’ve felt better and stronger and the games are coming thick and fast and hopefully I can play and show what I can do.

“I came here to win and to have the opportunity to play and show what I’m capable of doing.

“The main thing was we’re in three competitions and we want to be successful in all of them.”
