Eddie Howe, like all (if not most) other EPL clubs’ managers, is still chasing more players. This time, the Magpies have laid eyes on Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot, according to a tweet by Sport Witness.
Rabiot did not join Juventus’ pre-season tour in the USA, which raised eyebrows, but the 27-year old accredited his absence to personal reasons.
What didn’t escape people’s eyes, however, is his representative’s search for a club willing to spend 15 million euros to sign the Frenchman.
That and Calciomercato’s claim that Adrien seeks to depart from Juventus is a clear indication that the French international could leave Juve.
Various EPL clubs have been linked to the midfielder this past month, among them Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle.
Liverpool and Arsenal’s interest was seemingly fleeting, leaving the other three clubs in the anticipated fight for the former PSG man.
Sport Witness’ tweet alleges that the Magpies have the demand to sign Rabiot, but the latter might consider “bigger” targets, the Red Devils and the Blues.
United and Chelsea, however, are in pursuit of other (better) targets and might not consider Rabiot further.
There’s no progress so far from his mother’s (and representative) search for a club in France either, which leaves Newcastle as the only real chance.
If he doesn’t get over his nightmarish stay at PSG and rejoin them as a part of Juve’s deal for Paredes, there’s a high possibility that Adrien will join Eddie Howe’s new signings this summer.
