Coming into their heated game last Saturday, Scottish Premier League sides, Rangers and Hearts were determined to extend the lead or replace the leader respectively. But neither happened as the two sides settled on a one all draw which saw both sides maintain their standing, and the one-point difference.
Although the game was expected to be a tough one and both sides should be contented with the draw, Rangers were not. Steven Gerrard’s side could have easily gotten three points at home had they not wasted some good chances to find the back of the opponent’s net.
Social media and the press have pinned criticism on Colombian striker, Alfredo Morelos for wasting clear scoring chances which cost his side a four point lead. The 2018-2019 Rangers player of the year missed several chances, one of them just before their opponents equalized in the 90th minute.
Being criticized, he didn’t need words or insults to clap back. The 25 year old responded with an image of him celebrating in the past after scoring. Just like in the image, his accompanying emojis were shushes, and he added two winks.
His meaning was clear; he did silence them with his performance before, and they should not just remember that, but let it assure them that he would do it again. Morelos has been instrumental to Rangers performances since joining in 2017, even becoming the Scottish Premier League top scorer of 2018-2019.
The Rangers No.20 will be keen to score in their upcoming Europa League game on Thursday at home, and extend his club record for the most goals scored by a Rangers’ player in European competitions.
