Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is optimistic about completing several moves ahead of Saturday’s match against St Mirren.

On Thursday, Postecoglou witnessed his team beat AZ Alkmaar at Parkhead.

They took a 2-0 advantage into the return leg of the Europa League in the Netherlands, and it was two of Postecoglou’s new recruits, Kyogo Furuhashi and Joe Hart, who shone out for the Hoops.

Kyogo now has six goals in as many matches, and he also had an assist on James Forrest’s second goal. And in goal, Hart was in control, making a couple of vital saves to assist Celtic to another victory.

However, Postecoglou is limited in a couple of spots. Josip Juranovic, a right-back from Legia Warsaw, is expected to join, while a new striker is also on the cards.

On BBC Sportsound, the manager was asked if there will be any new recruits in time for this weekend’s match against St Mirren, and he reacted positively saying:

“Who knows? I hope so.

“Wwe’re getting to the end of the window so what I do know is we’ll have players in before the end of the window.”

“Kyogo is always a threat, he’s constantly looking to get in goalscoring areas, he’s constantly on the shoulder of defenders.

“Defensively he was outstanding tonight as well, but there were a lot of good efforts out there tonight.

“Joe Hart is improving every game, he’s a guy who came in very late and he was one of a number we’ve just thrown in but he’s obviously an experienced guy and knows how to handle himself.

“It gives the rest of the team confidence knowing he’s in goal.”
