The long-awaited permanent deal with Celtic for Portuguese winger Jota appears to be on after all.
At this point, it appears that Jota has opted to make his short stay in Glasgow a more permanent one, after the team’s early season form prompted fans to demand the board spend an estimated £6 million on bringing him to the club.
According to the latest reports [Jornal Nautical], the Benfica loanee has informed his parent club of his plans to remain in Glasgow permanently.
“The winger, true star of Celtic, should stay at the Scottish club which, as far as we know, will exercise the purchase clause agreed upon on loan, valued at 7.5 million euros, and has already informed the eagles of the decision.”
Ange Postecoglou and the Celtic fans who have fallen in love with Jota will be overjoyed by this development.
It will be interesting to see how this contract develops over the next few weeks given his talent, cleverness, and personality.
