Joe Hart has cemented his place as Celtic’s best stopper since his departure from EPL side, Tottenham and played a huge part in the Scottish giants’ success over the past six years.

After him, Celtic No.29, Bain, is securely the second best choice. The Scot hasn’t had much action for the Celts though, and would be expected to leave Celtic Park when his contract ends in 2023, but that reportedly won’t be the case.

According to The Scottish Press, Bain is set to sign a contract extension with The Hoops following Vasilis Barkas’ return to Greece in January. Ange Postecoglou is apparently happy with Bain’s performance and wants to keep him.

Ange’s latest signings, the likes of Jota and Kyogo, are doing a fantastic job, so him (Ange) wanting to keep Bain speaks volumes about the Scot’s capabilities. The 30-year-old has kept a clean sheet in more than half of the games he has played for the Bhoys (72), making him the best replacement for Hart, who is 34.

With less than two years until his (Bain) contract ends, tying him to Celtic is important considering his commendable performance whenever featured, and No. 1, Hart’s age, so Postecoglou will most probably not want Scott out soon.

Hopefully, despite his supposed satisfaction as the other choice, Bain will have more game time with the Celts to prove himself as a capable number one, not just Hart’s substitute or shadow.
