Former Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is interested in leading West Ham, but a publication claims that the club’s owners are worried about one major problem.

After West Ham’s 2-0 loss to Brentford, which put the team on goal difference one spot off the bottom of the table, David Moyes is facing intense pressure.

A recent story claims that the owners of West Ham have three managers in mind to take Moyes’ place should that happen.

And Bielsa, the former manager of Leeds, is one of them.

The Daily Mail reports that an ex-Leeds hero is one of three candidates on the West Ham owners’ shortlist to replace Moyes, who has been granted a three-game reprieve.

Ironically, West Ham will travel to Leeds the next night. It is hard to imagine Moyes being in the position for very long if the Hammers lose at Leeds.

As previously reported by Hammers News, co-owner David Sullivan spoke with former Leeds manager Bielsa for the West Ham position while he was in charge of Marseille.

Leeds fired the Argentine back in February, and Jesse Marsch took his place in the hot seat at Elland Road.

Now that Bielsa has left Leeds, a reporter claims that the owners of West Ham are worried about one major issue.

“Marcelo Bielsa has been named as one possible and we understand from insiders that he would be ready to take over,” reports board confidant Hughie Southon on Claret and Hugh.

“But the board have experience of him at interview level when appointing Slaven Bilic rather than the 67 year old Argentine and were not impressed with his zero knowledge of English. That remains the case.”

Bielsa’s reputation as a bit of an eccentric, according to the article, is deterring West Ham’s ownership.

To restore confidence that he can turn things around at the club, Moyes must now try to defeat Leeds.

Prior to the match on Wednesday night at Elland Road under the lights, West Ham will have significant worries.
