In a seven-word Instagram post, Celtic defender Greg Taylor confirmed that he has had surgery to correct a shoulder injury.
Prior to the start of the 2021-22 season, Taylor, 23, was in great form for Celtic, benefitting from the lack of options that manager Ange Postecoglou had available for the left-back position.
He has already appeared on the field 11 times. While Taylor may not have done as well as Anthony Ralston at right-back, he is nonetheless doing quite well, and his performances are surprising.
However, while he was playing a Europa League match against AZ Alkmaar, he landed badly on his shoulder. He hasn’t been seen since.
This is how it has come to be revealed that Taylor is required to have surgery to resolve the issue. Celtic fans received a seven-word message from Taylor.
On the one hand, it may be argued that Taylor isn’t the most talented Celtic player. In fact, he is probably the team’s most dependable left-back.
Of the options that were available, several people would have preferred Celtic signing a left-back in the summer transfer window.
Ralston and Juranovic are Celtic’s best fullbacks. They are right-backs, which is unfortunate for Ange Postecoglou. Juranovic has featured on the left side of the field.
Signing a new left-back would be the best choice. However, given the current situation, Postecoglou’s best option is to continue to believe in Bolingoli.
