Billionaire-owned PL club ready ‘Shock’ move to sign Rangers senior player – report
According to the Scottish Sun, Nottingham Forest are planning a surprise move for Rangers left-back Borna Barisic, who used to work with Ross Wilson at Ibrox.
The newspaper reported on Friday night (14 July) that Steve Cooper’s main concern is to strengthen his full-back positions and Barisic, 30, is one of the targets for the City Ground club.
The Scottish Sun says that Rangers could ask for £2million for Barisic, who might be allowed to leave now that Ridvan Yilmaz is fit again.
Barisic has stayed at Rangers longer than he deserved.
He has had some good moments, especially in the second half of last season, but overall he has been a disappointment.
He has made too many errors in Old Firm matches since he joined Rangers five years ago.
The Croatian is very good going forward, but he is very weak defensively and often loses concentration when marking the top attackers in the league.
It would be a great deal for Rangers to get £2million for an ageing player who will be a free agent next year.
Barisic, thanks for your service. But it’s time for you to go.
This is a win-win situation for everyone – except for Nottingham Forest, who are owned by a billionaire.
