Brendan Rodgers Open To Selling Leicester City Star

Finishing just below a European spot in the EPL last season must not have sat well with Leicester City and Brendan Rodgers, so it’s definitely frustrating that he(Rodgers) hasn’t found the additions needed to better his team.

Leicester haven’t signed any players this summer, unlike all the other English top flight contenders. While he wants new entrants, Rodgers is also targeting exits from his side to afford some expenses.

Reports suggest that Frenchman Boubakary Soumare is one of the Leicester squad members with whom Brendan will willingly part.

That doesn’t mean he’ll lose out though, and L’Equipe’s reveals that Leicester City rejected Monaco’s 15 million pound bid for the 23-year old because they’re targeting at least the amount with which they acquired him last summer (23 million).

Soumare has only played a couple of games since February and it’s clear that Leicester can do without him. A transfer will help both the club and him.

Reports reveal that Monaco have offered another deal, but this is still unverified and undisclosed, so it’s not clear whether their second offer is anywhere near Rodgers’ demand.

Should they successfully release Soumare, Leicester will have some cash to bid for at least one player and end their transfer woes this summer.

It’s highly unlikely that their exact quoted price will be fulfilled, though, so Brendan’s side might have to retain Soumare or settle for a lower sum and make do with it.
