As it is the norm among football fans across the globe, transfer windows come with a lot of expectations in matters of players’ departures and new arrivals in soccer clubs.
Such will be the scenario at Scottish Premiership champions Celtic in the summer. The club’s supporters have arguably been the most patient lot when it comes to the completion of the permanent move for Cameron Carter-Vickers.
The American center-back is at Celtic on loan from English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, and his composure and ability to read the game have paid off for Celtic with two domestic trophies this season.
According to John Wenham, a Tottenham expert and presenter of the Lilywhite Rose podcast with a massive following, it is believed Celtic will dig deeper to seal the particular deal.
Speaking to Football Insider, Wenham said; “I have said all along that Celtic will find the money to get this one done.
“I think it is just a matter of time at this point. The fact they are back in the Champions League gives them the money to get it done.
“He came in there and has barely missed a minute. He’s an Old Firm goalscorer, a cup winner and a title winner.
“He is worth the money Tottenham will be asking for say, the money is there’.
“I expect an announcement or significant progress to be made very soon.”
Basing on his reputation, Wenham’s predictions at Tottenham Hotspur usually come to pass.
It is now a wait and see matter before Celtic finally get hold of their man permanently.
The 24-year-old is highly rated and will definitely be pivotal in Celtic’s Scottish Premiership title defence and Champions League assignments in the new season.
