Rangers have exercised the re-call clause in Cedric Itten’s Greuther Furth deal, allowing him to return to the Scottish Premiership champions, according to Kicker.

Furth has only won once in 18 games, accumulating a total of six points in the process.

So far this season, no team in Europe’s top five leagues has scored less points than Greuther Furth. The newly promoted side is almost guaranteed to drop back to the second tier right away.

Rangers, on the other hand, are cruising to the top of the Scottish Premiership table, with a second consecutive domestic title in sight.

Cedric Itten has fallen out of favor at the Sportpark Ronhof, and he was forced to watch as Furth failed to beat Stuttgart last time out.

With Furth in desperate need of a goal, head coach Stefan Leitl chose not to introduce Itten off the bench.

It’s unclear whether the Rangers intend to maintain Itten for the foreseeable future. Or if they want to loan him out to another club that would be able to better utilize the former Basel player.

Itten, who signed a £3 million agreement with Rangers in the summer of 2020, struggled to get game time under Steven Gerrard.

However,Giovanni van Bronckhorst, has a track record of getting the best out of old-school, aggressive centre-forwards.
