Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have reportedly scheduled transfer discussions for their target Vinicius Souza.
The midfielder played on loan for KV Mechelen, an outfit under the ownership of Lommel, part of the City Football Group, which is not a recognised club, as explained by McGowan in the Daily Mail.
The transfer attempt is, however, complicated as the 22-year-old Brazilian holding midfielder is apparently 60-percent owned by the City Football Group, the Manchester City parent company.
Celtic hired coach Ange Postecoglou and head of recruitment Mark Lawwell from the same company.
The Scottish Premiership heavyweights will compete with other European big guns such as Fenerbahce, Club Brugge and Bologna, who are also closely monitoring the situation in South America in the transfer window.
Celtic have a reliable midfield despite letting Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton leave last month. They will be seeking to further strengthen it with the arrival of Souza.
Three notable midfielders joined Celtic in January to add to Callum McGregor and Avril Turnbull.
James McCarthy signed for the club during Ange Postecoglou’s summer transfer business. Ismaila Soro is still at Celtic, but he looks set to leave.
