It has been confirmed by Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou that Coatbridge’s Stephen Welsh will be fit for Sunday’s clash with Rangers.
During Scotland’s u21s duty against Kazakhstan midweek, the center-back hobbled off with what appeared to be a groin injury.
Even though he has been a regular for Celtic this season, Welsh hasn’t played in the Premiership since December.
The 22-year-old’s chances of playing against Rangers, who are three points behind the Hoops in the title race, appeared to be over after he picked up an injury on international duty.
Postecoglou, on the other hand, says that all but James Forrest are available for the match.
The manager said: “Everyone got through the international break injury-wise. The only one that is not available is James Forrest.
“He’s got a bit of niggle from his last game. But everyone else has returned from international duty ok, and the rest have trained all week.”
